📖 Co-creating with the Moon
The moon is often divided into several systems named phases. The phases encompass the entire moon cycle categorized with their unique energies. Getting to know these phases and their energies not only helps you explore and understand your inner landscapes but also helps you align yourself with your intentions and actions so you can create a better flow for yourself.
Have you ever felt so tired but you had a super long to-list on a Monday morning and by the end of the day you just barely completed two tasks?
This is what happens when we plan in advance following the linear structure which doesn't take own our rhythms into consideration. What happens next is that our energy does not match our plans and intentions, which then leads us to procrastination, we feel like we don’t have discipline and we feel like a failure. We feel stuck and have no idea how to implement a system that works for us.
The truth is ….
For us women, linear systems simply don’t work.
With that said, let’s dive into the phases!
New Moon phase: a one-day phase
The New Moon can be seen as a new beginning. It’s the time to start new projects, start planning, learn new things, take on new endeavors, etc. It’s a fresh start and is often seen as a new opportunity. This is when we start things we want to grow and increase in our lives.
This phase is the seed phase for our entire cycle. Planting seeds can happen consciously or unconsciously. Be wise in how you enter this new moon cycle.
Waxing Crescent Moon phase: a seven-day phase
Our plans are set during this phase. If there is anything we need to learn, adapt, or rehearse, this is when we take those steps.
Having discipline, and creating meaningful habits combined with a good schedule system - which takes our energy and our rhythms into consideration - are essential during these days.
Slowly but surely we’ll start increasing our workload making sure we are learning the skills we need, but also taking a bit more action every day.
If you need advice or a mentor this is the time we start looking for one or ask advice of those who are wise on the things we are trying to accomplish.
First Quarter Moon phase: a one-day phase
Time for Revision! This period is a great moment to look back on all that we have done and learned so far and check in if we are not only still aligned with our intentions but also if we are on point with our time management.
This is also a period of decision-making. Often a dilemma, problem, or obstacle presents itself as kind of a check-in making sure you really want to pursue these intentions and goals. Maybe we need to let go of some intentions and or goals. Maybe we need to put some to the backburner or we need to adapt a few.
Are we still inspired and motivated with our intentions, goals, projects, and tasks?
Are we implementing the right habits and taking the right actions?
Do our intentions/goals/projects/ tasks/habits need to be tweaked?
Maybe we are biting off more than we can chew?
If we feel stuck or lost this is yet again a time to ask for advice from someone experienced and wise on those matters.
Waxing Gibbous Moon phase: a seven-day phase
Whatever intentions and goals you have not only decided to take further with you, and have the time and means to achieve them, now is the time to stop talking and start doing.
No more time for learning, planning, or revision. Now we go full force gaining momentum each day until the full moon.
This phase together with the full moon phase is when we work the hardest.
Full Moon Phase: a one-day phase
During the full moon, we keep working hard, however, if we pay attention - and have done everything right - this is when we’ll start to see fruition from our labor ⇒ things start to manifest.
If this is the case, then it’s recommended to celebrate or give yourself a kind of reward under the glory of the full moon.
This is also a good time to show off your work and if needed, ask for opinions and advice.
Waning Gibbous Moon phase: a seven-phase
Now we harvest what we sow! The first two days after the full moon will start to see more of the fruition taking place and it’s advisable to harvest those manifestations carefully and mindfully.
The only actions we are taking right now are the things that need to be wrapped up.
Moreover, we share our wins and our wisdom with others.
Last Quarter Moon phase: a one-day phase
Review time! Same as the First Quarter Moon Phase, this time is dedicated to look back at the entire moon cycle, so far, and start noticing what worked and didn't work as well as what we’ve learned and what needs to be improved.
Which intentions & goals are we going to take with us on the next moon cycle? And which ones are ready to get released?
Are there other things, people, habits, or something else that need to be let go of? Now is the time to do so.
The Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Waning Crescent Moon phases are the shedding phases. We release what no longer serves us in order to heal and grow.
Waning Crescent Moon phase: a seven-phase
Relaxing time!
After the Full Moon, the energy has started to slow down again and during this phase, the energy will be at its lowest. If you pay attention you’ll start to notice this energy decreasing each day in yourself as well.
Turn inward and listen to yourself and your needs.
It’s best to take this phase as a time for rest, sleep, rejuvenation, and introspection. If possible put your work and social events at simmer mode during this time.
