Co-creating with nature’s timing | weekly Journaling prompts
Happy Saturday dear ones! In this letter, I’ll be introducing…
✒️ Entering spring season, what energies lie ahead
📝 12 weekly journaling prompts for this season
📖 The Energetics of Spring
As I mentioned in my previous letter, the wheel is turning yet again, marking a new shift, and this time it’s all about Spring Season!
For those of us who embrace cyclical living, spring is a potent shift, an initiation of some sort. The season guides us to plant the seeds of our dreams and set intentions into motion. Whether you're consciously working with the moon cycles, menstrual cycles, or the seasons of the year, spring invites us into rebirth, balance, preparation, and potential.
When we align our lifestyle (our day-to-day life & self-care) together with how we are designing our life with the energy of spring, we harmonize with the natural flow of the planet & the universe. In today’s letter, we'll explore the essence of spring energy to help you craft or adapt our lifestyle and move intentionally with no force, or hustle.
🌸The Energy of Spring
Spring represents the season of the Maiden archetype; fresh, curious, playful, and full of possibility. It is the Waxing Moon phase of the yearly cycle, where energy rises, ideas spark, and we move from dreaming into doing.
In traditional cyclical wisdom (1*), spring aligns with:
The element of air: clarity, ideas, and communication
Connected to the lungs: through breath, letting the spirit in = (Re)Birth & (in)spiration
The east direction in Western Medicine Wheel & Celtic traditions: new beginnings, vision, and inspiration
Time of day: sunrise
The follicular phase in the menstrual cycle: energy building, creativity flowing, and optimism blooming
The period after the new moon = the waxing moon phase in the Lunar Cycle: setting clear intentions, planning & strategizing plus taking (aligned) action
Archetypes: the maiden, the hare, and butterfly
Spring is the bridge between the deep inner reflection of winter and the outward bloom of summer. It's the perfect time to begin (again) - with fresh eyes, open hearts, and a sense of infinite possibility.
Spring is more than a shift in weather; it is an invitation into a new way of being. It holds the energy of:
✨ Rebirth—a chance to begin again, to shed the weight of winter and step into fresh energy.
✨ Balance—a moment of harmony between light and dark as we emerge from the equinox.
✨ Preparation—a time to root our intentions and create the foundations for what we desire.
✨ Potential—a reminder that all things are possible, that what is unseen is already growing.
A Time of Rebirth
Winter invites rest, stillness, and deep introspection. It is a time of surrender, where we turn inward and listen. But now, as the season shifts, we are called to wake up—not just physically, but spiritually, emotionally, and creatively.
Just as nature begins to bloom again, we, too, emerge from our inner hibernation. This rebirth isn’t about forcing change—it’s about allowing it. The first step is simply noticing what is stirring within you.
Spring teaches us that growth happens gradually. The trees do not rush to bloom. The flowers do not force themselves open. We are allowed to ease into our becoming.
In the previous post, I dove more into 👇
A time of balance
Spring begins with the equinox - this year on March 20th, 2025 - the threshold where day and night are equal in length, and where light and dark find harmony for a brief, fleeting moment.
This is nature’s way of reminding us that balance is essential. We cannot live in perpetual expansion or stagnation; we must honor both doing and being, action and rest, intention and surrender.
At this time, we are invited to:
Align our inner and outer worlds: bringing our dreams into planning and action.
Honor the both/and: embracing both the shadows and the light within ourselves.
Recognize that growth and stillness are equally necessary in the cycle of creation.
Embodiment practice: on the day of the equinox, spend time outdoors. Feel the balance in the air—the stillness before the energy of the season fully takes off. Set an intention for what balance means in your life right now.
A Time of Preparation
Spring isn’t just about blooming—it’s about preparing the ground so that our intentions have a strong foundation to grow. The Earth knows this well; farmers do not plant seeds without first clearing the land, enriching the soil, and creating space for new life.
We must do the same. This is the time to:
Declutter: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Let go of what no longer serves us.
Root our desires in action. What daily habits will nourish our vision?
Trust in timing. If we plant the seed today, we cannot expect the flower to bloom tomorrow.
A Time of Potential
Spring holds the frequency of infinite potential. It is a season of what ifs, of maybes, of doors waiting to open.
What is most magical about this time is that even if you cannot see the full bloom yet, it is already in motion. The tree blossoms before the fruit appears. The roots grow beneath the surface before the sprout emerges.
This is an invitation to step into trust while doing your part as well.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.
You don’t need to rush the process—everything is unfolding in perfect timing.
You are allowed to play, explore, and expand into new possibilities.
💭 Mindset Shift: Instead of asking, “Will this work out?”, shift to “What is possible for me now?”
However ….
we cannot just have great expectations and sit around to wait & see
It’s up to us to take daily, phasely (weekly) and mo(o)ntlhy (inspired) action toward what we want to see blooming in our lives.
Nature presents us with all nutrients needed for growth, but it is up to us to take them - seize the opportunity = breathing them in and allowing them into our bodies - and digest them thoroughly (working on it regularly).
Here, we see the previous qualities again reflected back to us: we need to ignite the spark again allowing rebirth to take place, we need to allow balance in = working with nature and doing our part, instead of waiting for nature to do all the work, and we need to prepare = working through our planning & strategy systems as well as starting to take action.
📝Journaling prompts for Spring
As someone who has felt stuck for many years, I know that sometimes we need some guidance, something or someone pointing us in the “right” direction we could take. That is why I included some journaling prompts you can work through each week during spring to help you get out of stagnation, start moving and thus flowing through this spring season:
Week 1: What new beginning is stirring within me?
Week 2: What is my inner fire asking me to ignite?
Week 3: How do I want to feel as I create this beautiful life of mine?
Week 4: What old stories or patterns am I ready to burn away?
Week 5: What desires am I ready to root deeply into my life?
Week 6: How can I tend to my desires with love & patience?
Week 7: What resources & support do I need to ground my dreams into reality?
Week 8: How can I cultivate pleasure & beauty along the way?
Week 9: What new possibilities are opening up around me?
Week 10: How can I speak my desires into the world?
Week 11: Where am I being invited to let go of control?
Week 12: How can I celebrate my blooming, no matter how small?
⭐ Tip: mark these in your calendar and set an alarm. We tend to forget new activities, or habits, as they are not yet ingrained into our minds and bodies.
Spring season is a reminder that nature and therefore life is always inviting us to begin again, no matter how many times we've felt lost, stuck, dormant or uncertain.
We are exactly where we’re meant to be, yet with infinite possibilities stirring beneath the surface. As we move through this season, we let ourselves be guided by nature’s wisdom.
Take time to listen to what is happening inside, trust the unfolding, and allow yourself to bloom in your own timing.
🖊️ Which phase of spring’s energy do you feel most drawn to right now? Rebirth, balance, preparation, or potential? I’d love to hear your personal stories, so reply and share your reflections in the comment!

(1*) Take into consideration that many (ancient) traditions have their own medicine wheel and even though most of them kind of align with each other, there are distinct unique qualities and meaning to each of them. Because I live in the Northern Hemisphere, in Europe to be precise, and have Frisian ancestors (Dutch), I therefore work with the Western & Northern Hemisphere cycles of nature. If you live elsewhere, it’s important to learn and implement the medicine wheel from your location & your ancestors, otherwise cyclical living won’t make sense to you, nor will it work for you either.
