Hi there!

My name is Vanessa but I’m often called Vane or Nessa, depending on the people and the countries. I’ve been living in the Netherlands for almost 30 years now but my roots come from very far far away.

I was born in a small fishing village surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains. From a very early age, I spent my time playing and learning in nature, and even back then, I could sense there was more that met the eye.

Like many of us, or maybe most of us, I lost my connection to myself, to nature, and magic along the way. Things happened, life happened.

I tried to manage the best way I could, while ignoring the signs, even when bells and whistles were constantly going off, because I thought and got continuously told to grow up, put both feet on the ground, and get real, meaning enter the field of adulthood in the Western world. And I did… while internally crying, entering many episodes of depression, anxiety, OCD, infertility, and finally adding the cherry on the top: A Breast Cancer diagnosis in 2021.

I had to learn the hard way that how I was living life wasn’t working for me anymore.

So in an effort to clean myself up while still recovering, I want to start creating the life I so desired as a child, bringing those elements that made me feel alive and happy into the now.

And it has all to do with Cyclical Living.

What’s with the name Your WeatherVane?

You see them often in the countryside, villages, often on barns or even old buildings. They come in different shapes and sizes, more often displayed with a rooster, with the wind directions underneath it, and always has at least one arrow. Depending on the weather they may move in one or several directions or may fly in circles during storms.

I feel like I’m a WeatherVane - it even has my name hidden in it; Vane - feeling grateful to be alive in this world, yet trying to find my inner center. Instead of moving around with whatever happens around and to me, I want to master my own WeatherVane and only move, direct, and point my arrow wherever I want to go —> life happening for me. As I do this, I flow with the elements instead of against them. Again, this is all about Cyclical Living

What to expect from YourWeatherVane

This place and space will be the center of how I navigate my healing journey as well as living cyclically in the form of posts, combining what has always been there; the magical & the mundane.

I love to create; this may be in the form of writing, whether in here or journaling, so you will also see images of my creations and love moments plus free printable pages related to Cyclical Living.

My intention for this space is …

🩷 To use this space as a blog post where I share about Cyclical Living, the impact of a (breast) cancer journey and healing from it, and how cyclical living has helped me get through this.

🩷 Plus, I’ll be adding occasionally free journaling pages as well as journaling pages for Substack members only several times throughout the month.

Free Subscribers get…

⭐️ WEEKLY POSTS - we’ll dive each week on a Seasonal Alchemy theme sometimes combined with my personal stories and updates

⭐️ FREE JOURNALING PAGES/WORKSHEETS - these will be sent via email at least once a mo(o)nth

⭐️ ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY - all free journaling pages/worksheets are available at a secret hub 🤫. Access to this library will be sent in the subscriber’s welcoming email

And on that note, I hope this space brings you inspiration & motivation to design the life you love.

We all deserve to follow our own path in whatever shape or form it might be, without letting anyone tell us how we should live, telling us how life is supposed to look like, or even how it is supposed to feel like.

Stay up-to-date

You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter + link to The Library (the printable journaling pages are stored in a secret hub) goes directly to your inbox.

I'm a cancer survivor, cyclical living devotee, and quiet seeker of everyday magic. I love writing about the seasons within and around me, creating art that heals the heart, and learning to trust my intuition to lead the way back home.
