📖 The Energetics of Summer
We’ll be welcoming Summer in the Norden Hemisphere - and those down under will be entering Winter - again in a few weeks.
I don’t know about you but this spring season has been wet and quite cold for this time of the year and I’m curious what the weather will be like during the summer mo(o)ths.(1)
To be honest, I’m not fond of too much heat and humidity but this weather is no fun either. I miss the sun! Last year around this time I wrote a post about my feelings in regards to summer. Read it here —> My personal relationship with Summer.
Putting my feelings regarding the hotness of Summer aside, let’s dive into its energetics!
☀️Summer and Fire
Summer is the fire season, meaning it’s time for action and transformation.
If you have been working towards a goal, now it’s the time to implement your plans. To actually materialize them into this world, that what you envisioned so far.
This is the time of incarnation and thus we’re able to manifest from the heart & mind into matter.
If you believe in magic, this is the time when the dream, the wish, the desire becomes matter. Magic does not happen overnight. It happens when you combine intentions with action. It may appear as if something fell from the sky, but that is the illusion of magic. There’s an entire process behind the veil. And that process unfold now. However, you need to do the work.
If for whatever reason you’re not able to take action during this period, then the plans become just part of the illusion.
As the days are longer and the sun shines bright, the fire fuels you with stamina to pursue the next steps. Let this fire motivate you to keep on going and be strong to push through.
☀️An invitation to shine
This is the time when your inner nature asks you to shine. Just observe nature and see how everything around you shines too.
Be proud of your accomplishments, of what you have done, and how far you have come. Most of all, be proud of the person you have become.
In a world where humility is the norm, often stepping up and daring to shine is often frowned upon, and many may think you’re egocentric and/or selfish. This is often a projection of envy and jealousy. It takes courage to shine, and go against “the norm”.
Nature doesn't shine the entire time, so there is nothing wrong with daring to shine, and to show off the wonderful person you’ve become. Be selfish, put yourself first, and let go of other’s people opinions. You’re not responsible for other people’s feelings, mindset, and opinions.
This is when we find empowerment in quotes like:
“What other people think of me, is none of my business”
Leo season is for a reason part of the Summer Season.(2)
☀️Find your treasure(s)
As you pursue the life you love and continue to design it in alignment with yourself, you’ll soon discover some uncomfortable things along the way.
These things are often suppressed thoughts and feelings regarding ourselves and the world. You can call these limiting beliefs, traumas, and inner shadows.
By acknowledging them, sitting with them, feeling them, and journaling about them you may be able to see how there is a lot of treasure buried with them as well.
Depending on the severity of your limiting beliefs, traumas, inner shadows, and your ways of emotional self-regulation, I’ll always recommend doing this work with a professional, especially in the beginning. Sometimes we just need that support.
Things to be mindful of during the Summer Season
The Sun is wonderful but it can be quite destructive as well so here are a few tips for burn(out) prevention:
Avoid direct sunlight when the Sun it’s at its most potent. This is often between 11 and 15 hours (11 am and 3 pm)
Use a good SPF sunscreen
Avoid high-intensity workouts during the peak of the day, especially if you do them outside
Refresh yourself often, especially if you are outside and even if you are in the shade
Drink plenty of water!
Take lots of rest moments! There’s a reason Mediterranean people take siestas
Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits. This is the time when they are abundant and probably available in your direct area. In this way avoid eating imported veggies and fruits which are often unripe (=less vitamins and minerals) and often come from devious parts of the world
Work hard but enjoy life hard as well. Go work walks in nature and don’t forget to slow down taking in the beauty and magic of the nature surrounding you.

📢 An Announcement
I love writing here on Substack, but I’ve stumbled against a few walls along the way, both internal as well as external. (3)
That has made me step out of Substack for a bit to rethink and feel how I want and need to go forward. During this period I decided to try adding a paywall for around 60% of my content moving forward.
I want to be able to share from the bottom of my heart, and sometimes to do that I need to be quite personal and vulnerable. And to be honest, I worry this space could be found by unwelcome wandering eyes. To have a sense of protection and agency, I feel adding a paywall is the right thing for me to do.
Also, as someone who has always struggled with the meaning of worthiness and self-worth, I felt a nagging sensation while putting everything out there for “free”. Let’s be clear; It’s not about the money and I’m not doing this as a livelihood but I’m putting in the time, the effort, the lessons I’ve learned, the wisdom I’ve gained, and myself.
It’s a fact that when something is ‘free’ is often unconsciously perceived as invaluable. And that is a feeling I’m excluding from my life from now on.
Yet again, I do still want to have plenty of content available for everyone, as I know that money, especially in these times, is often a struggle for many of us right now.

(1) mo(o)nth is a combination of the words Moon and Moth. As someone who works cyclically, I work with the Moon cycles instead of the months of the year. This doesn’t mean I have canceled the months entirely, as I still work with actual dates. Hence, the combination of the moon cycles and months into mo(o)nth.
(2) This is not the case for those down under, and to be honest I’ve found myself in a predicament when it comes to astrology and the southern hemisphere. More on that layer!
(3) With ‘internal’ I mean the inner landscapes; how we feel and think. With ‘external’ I refer to anything that happens outside our bodies and is related to our close surroundings.
