📖 The Energetics of Winter
Each season has specific energies that can be seen as presents we can unwrap consciously if we take the time to do so, and with Winter there is no difference. In today’s post, I’ll shortly walk you through the most important themes, presents, and opportunities Winter offers.
For those down under, the seasonal transition is the opposite from us, here in the Northern Hemisphere, where you get ready to enter Summer Season. So for you peeps, check the post down below:
Entering Summer Season
Happy Wednesday dear ones! It has been a hot minute but I’m happy to be back. In this week’s letter, you’ll learn about…
Yes, I know, I know…most of us here in the Northern Hemisphere wish to be entering Summer too, but if we learn to understand and learn from Winter’s wisdom we’ll be much more grateful than just running down trying to escape the cold.
And this wisdom is quite simple and short:
Slow down, relax, sleep, rejuvenate, introspect
And as I want to write a long post about Winter, I feel resistance… something I’ve been feeling since I got sick this past month because everything inside of me is screaming to enter Winter’s Cave, so I can rest, sleep, rejuvenate, and introspect too.
Winter is the time we rest, and it can be compared to nighttime when most of us are sleeping. However, as I’ve mentioned often in other posts, most of us live in a society where we follow the hustle culture, the do-do, and the be-on-the-go-go mentality. Simply put, there is no time for rest, but cyclical living is all about observing nature and aligning with its cycles.
So just look outside your window, observe what nature is doing, and follow in its footsteps.
And that is the resistance I’m feeling right now, I want to write every single week, but I haven’t written since early November. I feel tired and uninspired, and I find myself grieving a bit more than usual. Like many wealthy folks who run to the south during the Wintertime, in an attempt to escape the Winter blues and its sorrows, we too try to avoid this grieving period (1.) by keeping busy and using the holidays as an excuse to spend all our times with a lot of people, eating & drinking often way too much.
The thing is that no matter how hard we try to escape the grief and the winter’s blues, it will follow us no matter where we go and it will wait for the moment, the perfect moment, which won’t feel anything like perfect to us - to stick its head out and shout: “ SURPRISE! I’m here to stay until you deal with me once and for all”.
I get it, I don’t want to do this either, but I now understand this is an energetical clean-up. If anything is still lingering around and hasn’t been digested and learned from this past Autumn, then Winter will take over the last cleaning process, so we can enter Spring Season as a clean canvas.
But, it’s not all pain and sorrows in the Winter’s Cave! Like nighttime, this is a period for dreaming. To dream freely of what we want, dream of what we wish for ourselves, our loved ones, our community, and the world. There are no limits to dreaming, so dream freely and without restrictions. You can journal about all your dreams - the day ones as well as the night ones - and just feel what you’d like to do during Spring Season, Summer Season, and the period ahead.
Of course, I cannot ask you to step out of society, and ignore your responsibilities but…
How can you slow down evermore?
How can you take the needed rest?
What pain(s) is/are aching?
What boundaries need to be set?
What dreams are calling you in?
🎁 A holiday present for you

(1.) Facing our emotions is healing. However, sometimes we can’t handle all of it by ourselves, and sometimes it’s a chemical thing. So, I always advise you to look for professional mental & emotional support.
